My blog about travel adventures and a lot more.
“It’s obvious!”, some of you might say.
“Do not take a new pair of shoes!”, others will say.
I have to agree. Would you go to run a marathon with a new pair of shoes? No. You wear them out first. Would you attend a wedding with a new pair of shoes that kill your feet? No. Well, answers can vary. Some/Most women might because they want to look pretty and some/most men simply have to (it’s difficult to justify a pair of sneakers with a suit).
The same goes for travelling. Do not pack a new pair of shoes without making sure that they are comfy. And attention, sometimes there are shoes that you have had since months or years and they are still not that comfortable. Do not take them if you have the slightest doubt!
Why? Because you are going to be walking all day long. At least, we do. And your feet suffer. Not at first but after a while you feel the pain. Sometimes it is already after few hours and sometimes after few days of intensive walking in the city.
In the best case scenario, you will only need to rest. In the worst case, you will come back home and you will still feel the pain. You will go to see a doctor, then a podiatrist and after that you have an appointment twice a week with a physiotherapist. This really happened. Not to me. And the person was not wearing a pair of brand new shoes but only those that he had a doubt about: sneakers with a slightly hard and not very flexible sole.
And what about you? Do you have a favourite pair of shoes to wear when travelling? Are they comfortable or pretty? Or both? Lucky you.
